Introducing Capture College
This is the opening screen of my classmate and I’s app we created. Our idea was for students to be able to capture photos throughout their college experience and have the ability to transform this into a physical photo memory book after graduation. This app also nudges users to try new things and meet new people.
Here are the different categories of images one can take throughout their college career. The “Spontaneous” button is for individuals who want a prompt that gets them out exploring. The “Stay In” prompts give easy ideas for people who want to be in the comfort of their home and “School Activities” include events such as sporting events. Lastly, the “Plan Ahead” category urges students to take pictures in situations that will need to either be on certain days, such as Karaoke nights at the local bar, or activities that will require more effort to complete.
Once you have selected the category you are up for, you can invite friends to join the prompt with you and it will be added to all of your profiles, then simply tap the screen to see what activity you will be capturing. The prompt and image seen on the right is an example.
Once a prompt is captured, one can choose if they want to upload their image to “The Pond,” where you can see the images of students in your area, or “Your Puddle,” which is a group of only your added friends.
One can view all of their photos and purchase their memory book through the icon on the bottom right, their “Profile.” One can also find and follow friends and other students’ profiles through the magnifying glass icon.
